Which payment method you use affects how quickly you are paid, whether you qualify for a bonus and how much privacy you have. Exact speeds, fees and limits differ between casinos, so check each casino’s banking page. The table below describes how each type usually works.

Withdrawals usually go back the way your money came in, so choose your method with both directions in mind.

Credit cards are not allowed

Since April 2020, UK licensed casinos cannot accept credit cards. Only money you actually have can be used. If a casino offers you credit card deposits, it is not following UK rules.

The main options

Method What it is Things to know
Debit card (Visa, Mastercard, Maestro) Pay directly from your bank account Widely accepted. Withdrawals to a card are often slower than to an e-wallet.
PayPal E-wallet linked to your bank or card Your casino never sees your card details. Not every casino offers it.
Skrill, Neteller E-wallets Often fast to withdraw to. Some casinos exclude them from bonuses, so read the terms.
Open banking (for example Trustly) Pay straight from your bank account without entering card details Quick to set up. You confirm the payment in your banking app.
Apple Pay Mobile wallet using a card stored on your phone Convenient on mobile. It uses the card behind it, so the same card rules apply.
Paysafecard Prepaid voucher bought in advance Limits how much you can spend. Usually cannot be used to withdraw, so you need a second method.
Bank transfer Direct transfer from your bank Can be slower. Sometimes used for larger withdrawals.

Practical tips

  • Withdrawals usually go back to the method you deposited with. Plan for this before you pick one.
  • Use an account in your own name. Casinos verify that the payment method belongs to you.
  • Expect identity checks. Licensed casinos must verify your age and identity, and may ask for documents such as a passport or proof of address, often before a withdrawal.
  • Check fees and limits on the casino’s banking page. We do not list exact numbers here, because they change. Our list of UK online casinos shows the minimum deposit and cash-out times we could verify, with sources.
  • Set a deposit limit in your account before you pay in.
